Widely respected across the whisky industry as well as by fans, Balvenie are one of the best-known distillers in Speyside.

Situated on the outskirts of the region's whisky capital, Dufftown, near to sister distillery Glenfiddich, Balvenie has been producing whisky since 1893.

Much of the distillery's success can be attributed to malt master David Stewart, who started as an accountant for parent company Grant's in 1962. Having worked as master blender for the whole company for decades, he 'retired' in 2009, and now devotes all of his energies to Balvenie. The distillery and David are known for pioneering the use of cask finishing, and the core range still features the award-winning DoubleWood whiskies that brought the technique into the public eye.
