Award-winning distiller Glen Scotia has been producing single malt whisky in Campbeltown since 1832.

The town is located in Scotland’s smallest whisky-producing region, once known as the ‘Victorian Whisky Capital of the World’ when it was home to over 30 distilleries. Today, Glen Scotia is one of only three surviving distilleries in the region and has become one of the world's newest sought-after scotch whisky brands.

In 2021, Glen Scotia’s 25-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch whisky was awarded ‘Best In Show Whisky’ at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, beating over 3,800 entries. Later that year, it was named ‘Scottish Whisky Distillery of the Year’ at the Scottish Whisky Awards. It is the first time a distillery has achieved both accolades in the same year.

The distillery maintains much of its original design, including the fermenters, stillroom, and dunnage warehouse dating from the 1830s. To this day, the team, guided by Master Distiller and Distiller Manager Iain McAlister, follow in the footsteps of their founders, using traditional methods to create the unique Campbeltown style the brand has become world-famous for.

The distillery produces two styles of whisky, peated and non-peated, and the distinctly maritime-style liquid is made using techniques created by founders from centuries before. Over the years, the quality of whisky has grown, with longer fermentation and vatting of the malted barley and a slower and more careful distillation, but the process has remained the same.
