The Baumberger family have a history of brewing and distilling stretching back to the 1850s. Starting in the town of Langenthal – first mentioned in historical records as Langatun – Jakon Baumberger and his children ran a successful business into the 20th century.
In 2007, Jakob's great-grandson Hans Baumberger III decided to resurrect the family tradition and began distilling – Langatun spirits.
The distillery now produces a range of spirits, including the award-winning Langatun single malt. With a range that varies from delicate to smoky, and from rich and sweet to dark and savoury, Langatun are definitely one to watch – the team's combination of technical knowledge and passion for whisky-making is creating incredible spirits.
