Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey is the Most Awarded American Whiskey or Bourbon of 2019, 2020, and 2021. The brand honours Nearest Green, the first known African American master distiller. 

Affectionately nicknamed Uncle Nearest by his friends and family, Green is credited with helping perfect the globally recognised Lincoln County Process, which is the only thing that distinguishes Tennessee Whiskey from Kentucky Bourbon (other than geography). This unique filtering of bourbon through sugar maple charcoal was named after the county where Nearest lived and made whiskey.

Today, our Master Blender and Nearest’s 5th-generation descendant, Victoria Eady Butler, continues his legacy of excellence as the first African American master blender for a major brand.
