BIVROST Single Malt Whisky is produced by Aurora Spirit Distillery in Arctic Norway, the world’s northernmost whisky distillery. Located at 69°N within the Arctic Circle, BIVROST is distilled using glacial meltwater and Nordic barley, and shaped by the region’s dramatic climate and Norse heritage.
With an average yearly temperature of just 0.6°C, the Arctic environment, marked by freezing winters, light-filled summers, and crisp, clean air, creates naturally cool and stable conditions for maturation. This slow, gentle ageing allows the whisky to develop great clarity, balance, and depth.
BIVROST’s core expression, Yggdrasil, is named after the mythical world tree in Norse legend. Alongside this core release, BIVROST produces a series of limited-edition single malts, each a celebration of history, storytelling, exploration, and craftsmanship.
Looking ahead, BIVROST is pioneering the Arctic Barley Project, an ambitious initiative to cultivate and distil whisky using the world’s northernmost barley. Grown just kilometres from the distillery, this barley reflects the resilience and hardship of the sub-polar climate. A dedicated Arctic Barley expression will be released in the coming years.
From grain to glass, every drop of BIVROST whisky is deeply connected to its origin, a rare expression of place, culture, and time. Crafted for those who seek authenticity, adventure, and the unexpected, BIVROST is whisky from the edge of the world.
