Glenmorangie has existed as a distillery since 1843 when William Matheson bought a license to make whisky on the site of a brewery located near the Tarlogie Springs in Ross-shire in the highlands of Scotland.
These days, former distillery manager Bill Lumsden is the head whisky maker, turning the spirit that he helped make into the award-winning range. Well-known for pioneering use of wine casks in maturing whisky, Glenmorangie continue to experiment, producing a small but always popular range of small-batch whiskies, pushing whisky making to its limits.
