While there has been a Tullibardine distillery in the village of Blackford since 1798, the current distillery was built in 1949, designed by William Delmé-Evans. It changed hands a number of times until the mid-1990s, when it fell silent.

The distillery was reborn in 2003, when it was bought by a private consortium. They started an extensive program of reracking, filling the maturing spirit into excellent casks, specially selected to create single malts rather than whiskies for blending. We are now tasting the fruits of those labours, with a new range appearing in 2013 to much fanfare.
