Alex joined Adelphi in 2004 and was appointed Managing Director in 2015. He has increased sales and distribution to 25 markets worldwide, and helped design and commission the company’s environmentally sustainable Ardnamurchan distillery.
He developed and blended the first branded fusion of Scotch and non-Scotch whiskies to promote historical ties between Scotland and Japan, India, the Netherlands and Australia, and in 2017 he pioneered the use of blockchain technology for Scotch whisky, promoting transparency, authenticity and supply chain security.
In 2014, he was appointed a non-Executive Director of Scotland Food & Drink, and also chaired the judging panel for The Scottish Gin Awards from 2017-2019.
Alex was appointed as a "Master of the Quaich" in 2016, he is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Distillers, an honorary member of the Whisky Guild of New Zealand and a recipient of the Order of the Scottish Samurai.
