Pulteney is one of the few urban distilleries in Scotland, located in the Pulteneytown area of Wick. The distillery creates a unique whisky, in part due to the unusual wash still used to make their spirit. Rather than the traditional swan neck which sits atop most stills in Scotland, Pulteney’s wash still is flat-topped due to it being too tall to fit into the main building and chopped to fit.

Old Pulteney whisky has won a string of awards over the years, and in 2012 the 21-year-old expression won Jim Murray’s Whisky of the Year in his Whisky Bible.
