The Maclean Foundation was founded by acclaimed whisky writer, and long-time supporter of the show, Charles Maclean MBE, and his three sons — Ewan, Jamie, and Lachlan. Its goal is to provide clean water to developing countries, relying on the skills and strengths of this remarkable family.
Whisky has been part of the story at every step. The Foundation has released a series of single cask bottlings, hosted charity auctions, and worked with distilleries on events and tours, and we are delighted to be partnering with them this year to help raise funds for clean water around the world.
You can help with the Foundation's mission this year by making contributions either directly or at the show. Throughout the show, you can either make a gift in cash or by donating a Dream Dram token to one of our collection buckets around the venue.
Earlier this year, the three brothers completed the fastest ever human-powered crossing of the Pacific Ocean, rowing 9,000 miles non-stop and unsupported from Peru to Australia. Along the way, they raised more than £1 million, enough to give 40,000 people in Madagascar clean water for life.
At its heart, the Maclean Foundation is about using adventure, whisky, and storytelling to change lives. Every dram enjoyed and every pound donated brings them closer to a world where everyone has access to clean, safe water.
