Nick Savage was born in Sheffield, and studied in Sheffield and Melbourne, before moving to Scotland in 2007 to start a career in whisky. He started at Diageo, working on cask and maturation research, before moving to William Grant and Sons as a distillery. In 2016 he became master distillery for The Macallan, the final step before taking over the reigns at Bladnoch.

He is now responsible for leading the various teams that run the revitalised Bladnoch distillery, as well as leading the creation of Bladnoch's single malts and Pure Scot blended whiskes. With building stocks in the warehouses and Nick's love of innovation and experimentation, the future is exciting for both him and Bladnoch.
