Since it's 1825 founding, Ben Nevis has changed hands regularly. However, since its 1989 purchase by Japanese whisky maker Nikka, things have calmed down and recent releases are building its reputation as an excellent whisky maker.

While much of the distillery's whisky is shipped to Japan for blending, the core range of Scottish single malts is quietly making a name for itself as fantastic whiskies. Long championed by independent bottlers, the distillery is showing that it knows its whiskies better than anyone.
