Wild Turkey's history is a classic of the whiskey world: a brand created by a wholesaler which didn't make its own whiskey, which grew to be so popular that it bought the distillery which made it for them. Since 1971, Wild Turkey has owned its own distillery and has been producing its classic whiskeys.
Leading the distillery for more than 50 years has been the Russell family. Father Jimmy started at the company in 1954, a third generation distiller, and his son Eddie joined him in 1981. In 2015, Eddie took on the title of master distiller and now works with his father to keep Wild Turkey on track, creating some of the US's best whiskey.
