The Laing family have a long history in the whisky business. Douglas Laing was established in 1948 by Fred Douglas Laing and is now continued by his son Fred Hamilton Laing and Fred's daughter Cara.
Starting as a blender, the Fred Senior set up contracts with distillers to fill casks, which have led to the company's extensive stocks of incredible whiskies today. While often better known for its range of blended malt whiskies – including Big Peat, Timorous Beastie, Scallywag and The Epicurean – Douglas Laing also bottles a wide range of single casks and small batches, as it has for the last two decades.
Over the past 70 years, the Laing name has been at the forefront of great whisky, and with the next generation on board, it looks to continue.
