Benriach has had an eventful past. The distillery was founded more than 100 years ago in 1897, but after only three years it closed its doors (as did many other distilleries at the time). It did not reopen again until 1965 when it was bought by The Glenlivet Distillers, which used the distillery to produce its blended whiskies.

In 2002, the distillery closed again due to a cut in production, but reopened only after two years when it was taken over by new owners. Since then it has had huge success and has not looked back.

‘We have been participants at The Whisky Show for many years and the 2015 event was the best yet. The new location is superb, the variety of whiskies on offer exceptional (as always), and the consumer mix is varied and international; this festival seems to have moved on to a new level, and as such The Whisky Show has become one of the essential whisky exhibitions on the global whisky events calendar.’ Alistair Walker, regional sales manager
