Previously used for producing the White Horse blend, Craigellachie has been a somewhat discreet distillery for many years. For a long time, only 2% of Craigellachie’s malt was retained for bottling as a single malt, with the majority going into the White Horse blend. It is now a component of Dewar’s White Label, having been bought by owners Bacardi in 1998.
While the distillery used just to offer a 14yo expression, a 13yo, 17yo, 23yo, and 31yo can now be found. The 31yo notably received the World’s Best Single Malt award at the 2017 World Whiskies Awards.
