In autumn 2005 Ingvar Ronde took the whisky world by surprise when he published his first edition of the Malt Whisky Yearbook. This was the first attempt by anyone to do an annual review of the world of malt whisky. Not with a focus on tasting notes but rather reporting on the news and the current state of the business, distilleries and brands and also providing a look into the future.

Over the years the Malt Whisky Yearbook has not only been appreciated by whisky enthusiasts but has also become an important tool for people working in the industry who want to keep up to date. Ingvar will be launching (and signing) the completely updated 18th edition of his book at Whisky Show. He has also written another seven books on whisky for the Swedish audience and some of them have been translated into other languages.

Ingvar lives in the southern part of Sweden and his first whisky trip to Scotland was in 1980. Since the Malt Whisky Yearbook was released he has made more than 400 distillery visits in the world, mainly in Scotland where he has been to 122 active distilleries. In 2016 Ingvar was inducted as a Keeper of the Quaich for his commitment to Scotch whisky.
